Itinerary description
We started this long hike from Diakofti of Patmos making a circular route to the beach Psili Ammos. We start from the chapel of Stavros by asphalt road and reach a path which passes outside a sheepfold. The route is marked with white signs with the number 6. After the sheepfold the path moves along the sea and the landscape becomes wild and rocky with little vegetation. Then there is an iron gate and as we open it always following the signs, we started the climb to the right. At some points the ground is a bit slippery and the slope a bit steep. Beware of a point on the rock where you have to cross, as there is a cliff on the left. The ascent to the mountain continues as the slope remains uphill. Always follow the marks and the beans with a little care not to miss them. Then as we reach a plateau, the slope is normalized and we see in the background a fence wall that we passed. We continue our hike on the trail seeing the signs. We passed another fence and moved along another. We passed through its ruins and from that point the descent begins. In many places the ground is a bit slippery so care is required. After several hours of descent we enter a ravine. We cross it until we reach sandy ground and face the beach Psili Ammos. A beautiful beach with clear blue and clear waters in a nice environment. For the return we continue behind the canteen of the beach where the easy path to Diakofti starts. It is the road that most people use to go to Psili Ammos. There is an uphill slope at the beginning which then normalizes and in about half an hour you arrive by opening a corridor door in Diakofti entering a dirt road and then an asphalt road where is the starting point.
