This route is quite an adventure, due to the coordination of schedules and transportation to be used. It all starts in the Grepon car park in Chamonix (France). This place is very visited, so to see everything it is convenient to get up early since long queues form in summer. From here we get a kind of ski pass that allows you to take the lifts you want on the day. 2 adults and 2 children 142 euros for you to mentalize. You go up by cable car to Pla Aiguille and transfer to another cable car to the Aiguille du midi peak 3,842 meters. Incredible views of Mont Blanc, Glaciers, French and Italian Alps..., you see a multitude of expeditions going up to Mont Blanc, it is an overwhelming landscape, seeing all the viewpoints takes us about 2 hours plus the 40-minute climb. We go down to Pla de Aiguille and get off, starting to walk along a path called, Gran balcon Nord, which takes us to the ice cave in another 2.5 hours, very good views of Chamonix and the Les Drus needles as well as the Mer de Glace glacier. Once we arrive at a hotel in Le Montevers, we take a cable car that takes us down to the entrance of the cave, but as the Glacier disappears, we have to continue going down about 300 steps in 2012, each year there will be more steps, a sign of warming. We entered the cave and the children hallucinate, also the older ones. We go back up the steps and the cable car and in Montevers we take a cogwheel train that takes us back to Chamonix. The cave closes at 4:30 p.m. and the last train at 5:45 p.m., however you should check schedules, all included with the ski pass card from the beginning.
Just to say that this walk has it all, suitable for all audiences but requires effort, the crossing and the stairs, although with a very good reward. Upload warm clothes you are almost at 4,000 meters. We loved the adventure.
