Itinerary description
This hike merges two classic low altitude hikes of Chamonix valley: The hike to the Cascade du Dard that can be made in a loop starting from the Parking lot, and the hike to Buvette du Cerro and from there to the viewpoints over the Glacier des Bossons. This can be also made as an independent hike starting from another Parking lot. Making the two together is tough but rewarding. The links below give a flavour of these hikes but not the actual way here used. The path above the Buvette is quite demanding.

Hi, thanks for your contribution.
We are thinking to do hiking the next days in Chamonix, we are looking for doing balcon sud and nord but we dont know if the snow allow to do that, do you know these routes?
Thanks
So was I, but at this time of the year it is impossible to hike at those altitudes. The snow is too much... Unless you are well equipped, for a regular hiker those trails are closed up to mid June. That's why we have been doing low altitude hikes... 1500-1600 m is the maximum you can reach...
We suppose so, many thanks!
