Itinerary description

From the Heather Meadows Visitor Center we descended to the outlet of Bagley Lake and then climbed the switchbacks to Herman's Saddle. This site is a great viewpoint to the east to Bagley Lake and across to Mt Shuksan and to the west Iceberg Lake with Mt Baker in the background. We descended to Iceberg Lake and passed the other lakes in the chain, Hayes and Mazama. Ascend along the trail skirting Table Mtn and cross the snow to the plateau at the junction of the Ptarmigan Ridge Trail. We followed this back to the Artists' Point parking lot where we hitched a ride back to the the visitors Center.
The air was relatively cool and clear at this elevation compared to the Fraser Valley, smoke haze and 100°F (38°C)
