Itinerary description
Difficult hike at this time of the year (easy in summer). The melting snow can hide some surprises. At one high passage, the snow was thin and i fell to the waist level! The upper trails are largely covered by snow and the snowy slopes are steep. I had to take different paths to avoid risky parts. This is where your "hiker's nose" finds its utility! Strong winds (up to 80 km/h) made things even more difficult. I wanted to walk first to the east of the lake but the river was difficult to cross so i changed the route. My plan A was to reach Bhassis from "Dahr Chakher" waypoint and then continue on the LMT section 12 to Hrajel but the way down to Bhassis was particularly dangerous (Snow on steep slopes/ see waypoint picture). I shifted to plan B and continued up to the Geodesic point G 97C before going back on the same route.
PS: trails recorded in snow time may not be valid to follow in summer. An easy passage on snow may be difficult on rocks and vice-versa. Always use your common sense when you follow any trail on wikiloc because you will rarely know the condition of the trail at the moment of recording.
