Itinerary description
We start in Cha Manuel dos Santos and cross the river towards Cha de Fanzenda under Chãzinha from where we go up the Cabo Ribeira to 1500m. The trail is indicated by a yellow/white sign, but you will not find much of these indications, also not on crucial points. The view is already spectacular. After we have climbed the Cabo we follow the street to Pico da Cruz. In the small city Pico da Cruz we can buy water at Manuela's small Mercaria. She also sells coffee and a delicious cake. In the town ask for the way to "Santa Isabel". Follow the main road to the left and 100m after the junction you go to left and follow the path through a pine copse. Always keep left until a bizarre rock outcrop comes into your sight. They path is well paved and has sometimes little balustrades in both sides. The path is spectacular and sometimes very steep. Good hiking shoes are obligatory! When the path ends, go down in the valley to your right, cross it towards the yellow building. At the last farm turn left and follow the way. After a while you will have to turn left at a yellow/white indication. Follow the path down until a deep gorge. After a dragon blood tree you have to cross the river and then follow the street to Vila das Pombas. You will find many Aluguers there. Enjoy!

I've done the part of this trail that leads to Pico da Cruz. A steep ascent. The track does not seem to be recorded to well though. There's only 1 path to take, but the app kept saying I was on the wrong path. Once you get to the main road, go left, passing a church (on clear days you might see the island of São Vincente on the right) and reaching the village of Pico da Cruz. There you should find an information board showing you the way to the peak.
