Itinerary description
Hiking up the Cerro Pelado wich is an extinct volcano, highly eroded and windy during the dry season.
The trip had the objective of monitoring birds and relating the richness and abundance of species and their relationships with the environment, the topography and vegetative comunities.
The hike is moderate and you ought to take with you solar protection and plenty of water. The gravel track is well marked and there are beautiful viewpoints where you can see the pacific lowlands, La Amistad bridge over the Tempisque River; Barra Honda National Park, the city of Cañas, Puntarenas (night time) and the Pan de Azucar, La Mina and Charcones Hills.
