Itinerary description
This is a short and relatively straightforward trail. For most of thascent, which is, at times, quite stepp, the trail is a single walking track. For most of the descent we used a trail that had been used by vehicles from time to time; it was wider and not as steep.
The walking is pleasant enough and there is plenty of shade. The reson fro coming up here however, is to enjoy the views, which are spectacular. The town of Patzcuaro lays sprawling underneath Cerro Blanco, the Estribo Grande behind it to the west. To the north is Lake Patzcuaro; the views extend over Estribo Chico and towards the islands.
It would be easy to complete this circuit in under one hour if you did not stop to enjoy the vistas.
