Itinerary description
Hiking path at Centaur's Gorge (Faraggi ton Kentavron) near Ancient Olympia.
The start of the path is clearly indicated by a sign on the side of the road. The first few hundred meters looks like a small landfill, with lots of rubbish, but it's the righ trail. Follow the riverbed (or the lower path during summer when the river is dry) and after a while you reach the entrance to the gorge.
In the middle of the gorge there is a ladder to help with a good 2 meter drop, but be careful using it.
Good hiking boots or hiking shoes are required, do not go with trainers.
The trail is not clearly marked, but occasionally you will find red paint on rocks or trees, which are temp trail markings.
After the gorge when you start your ascent towards Foloi village, be careful as the red markings end suddenly and they continue on an ascending path to the left which is not clear. Keep an eye on the next red marking when you exit the gorge.
