Itinerary description

You will go all the way uphill, did stop a lot to take pictures, back walk was only 40 minutes down hill. Road is closed to the public, quality narrow 4x4 road. There is no place for two cars all the way on the road!

Cedar Valley is home to the Cyprus Cedar, an endemic Cedar subspecies, which numbers some 130,000 trees. The Valley is found deep inside Paphos Forest, between the villages of Lysos towards the west, Pano Panagia to the south, Kampos and Trakkistra to the east and Pyrgos and Pomos to the north.
The Cedar Valley picnic area is at an elevation of about 1,150 m. The imposing Tripilos peak, a few km to the north west is at an elevation of nearly 1,400 m. Usually we do a linear 6-km long walk (and then return on the same route). One enjoys different views going and returning on the same route. One can make different arrangements (eg do the walk only one-way and combine it with some other route).
The route is for the nature lovers. Here one is in the company of the cedars, the golden oaks, and the (avian) fauna of the area. It is possible (but not probable) to spot some of the few thousands of mouflon living in the Paphos Forest.
The route (especially when at Tripilos peak) offers excellent vistas of a large part of the extensive Paphos Forest as well as stretches of the north coast, towards Polis and Akamas in the north west and towards Morphou bay in the north east. The route is beautiful year round, including summer and winter. In summer it may be greener at places because of the lush bracken. In winter sometimes it may be foggy or stretches of the route may be covered in snow (enriching the explorer's experience).

    Amazing Valley of Cedars ...
At the very top of the mountain there is a fire tower, if you politely ask, then the firemen will allow them to rest and have lunch

Simple trail with fantastic views. Classified moderate because of the 3o ascent, but the terrain is quite easy to walk on even in plain sports shoes.
