Itinerary description
This hike starts at the Devil's Postpile overnight parking lot, passes by the beautiful Minaret Lake, and then climbs over a class 3 chute to Cecile Lake. -Cecile Lake, which is located at the base of the Minarets, was frozen and wonderful. Also, I was told that there was still lots of snow on the way to Ediza Lake. Since I had forgotten to pack my microspikes, I played it safe and returned the way I started. There is one tricky section in this hike, a 15-20 ft section of class 3 rock to climb to reach the ridge above Cecile Lake. If you're not carrying a heavy pack, and if you're comfortable with climbing then you should be ok, since the rocks have nice grips. But don't fall!! You would be in big trouble if you were to fall.
