Itinerary description
One of the hardest days we expect to walk. Very varied landscape, quite tough on the feet. Paths a mixture of very rocky, waterlogged, paved (tarmac and cobbles). A lot of farm tracks. Up and down all day. Sometimes we had to circumnavigate around the extensive water or mud, by going in the fields, guided only by footprints and common-sense :-)
Only just over 20km. Definitely worth doing the proper dogleg route via Oseria. Saw the stunning monastery there, nice chocolate and cheese in their shop, a small café on a corner in the village, for coffee, down by the river for a picnic. Only saw a handful of pellegrinos all day - so a pretty sort route at this time of year (May)
At Cea, the albergue is worth booking if you much prefer a private room rather than a communal dormitory - the 4 of us did and just as well.
