Itinerary description
The cave near the city of Nemea where Hercules is said to have completed the first of his twelve labors (strangling the terrible lion that was devastating the region), imposed on him by Eurystheus, the king of Mycenae, to atone for his guilt (Hercules had killed his own children in a fit of madness). The path is short and not exposed, but lacks any signs and it is steep in some sections, requiring attention.
