Itinerary description

A great walk straight out of the centre of Castleton. I've been to Castleton many times without realising this gem was there, it was tricky when we did it because of the ice. A stream runs down the dale which was frozen. The views of the Dale and back onto Castleton as you get higher are wonderful. The walk is then flatter as you head over to MamTor , we didn't actually go to the top as we've done it many times before but you could add the MamTor summit onto this walk. We headed down passing all the Caverns, it is a steep drop off as you round the mountain so you'll need to be sure footed, an alternative would be to walk down the broken road from MamTor.

Another good walk guys. We went off track to walk down Winnats Pass but will walk in the opposite direction to catch the caverns next time. Thanks for sharing
