Itinerary description

A hike in the area near Cathedral Peaks Hotel that visits a couple of waterfalls. To access this loop trail that runs on either side of the Nhlonhlweni River head south from the hotel towards the stables. At the waypoint named Intersection 2 take the right fork (west) and head towards the first set of waterfalls (intersections are marked by signs). After 500m you will see Doreen Falls to your left. Albert falls is about 100 meters further upstream.

Return to Intersection 2, this time take the east fork (be careful, Maxini and I flew past the marker and we had to retrace our steps). You will climb a ladder and after hiking for 1 kilometer you will see Ribbon Falls is visible in the distance. For a better view you can hike closer to the base of the falls.

Descend to the river and cross over to the far side. After hiking for about 2 kilometers you will cross back over the river about 150 meters from the hotel.

A nice hike in a beautiful area with several different waterfalls to see.
