Itinerary description
Just part of the many trails at Castlewood Canyon State Park. This trail is easily accessed from the west entrance. See the directions below.
It starts off with the Homestead trail east, then Creek bottom trail south, Dam trail east and then finally Rim Rock trail north back to the parking area.
I chose to go the creek bottom trail first so the dog would dry off by the time I got back to the truck!
Direction: Take I-25 to Castle Rock, exit onto Founders Parkway eastbound. Take Founders Parkway to Hwy 86, go east on Hwy 86 four miles towards Franktown. Turn right on Castlewood Canyon Road (County Rd 51) from Hwy 86 prior to reaching Franktown.
Please be aware that you will be required to have a state parks annual or day pass.
