Itinerary description
A spectacular loop tour that starts and ends in Castel di Tora.
We started from the small parking zone on via Turanese. The start is quite steep, was a demanding climb but no technical difficulties, just physical and after around 800-900 meters it gets easier. After a kilometer we turned right on the red/white marked trail. The path winds along the lake the views are really spectacular. There is a great variety of landscapes, and we would like to return here again in spring to see it in more bright colors. The decent is less tiring but should not be underestimated... We headed towards Ascrea and after returned back to the starting point. The final part is on a paved road, need to be careful with the cars. Along all trail there is almost no shadow, so we would recommend doing it in spring/autumn or at least early in the morning if you plan to visit it in summer.
