Itinerary description
Cascade Pass is one of the classic hikes in the North Cascades. Access is on the cascade River Rd from Marblemount, a 23 mile drive, half paved, the rest washboard and potholed gravel. The ascent is an easy series of 30 switchbacks through the woods and a long traverse to the pass. The views from the pass down the Stehekin Valley are spectacular, to the east to Trapper and Glory Mtns with the peaks near rainy Pass in the distance. To the west is Eldorado Peak with a large glacier.
