Itinerary description

English (castellano debajo):

**From Chalin back to the car THERE WAS NO PATH available and NO SIGN about it. Be extremely careful as you'd need to cross a river and you can easily get lost. An option is to return using the same path that you use to go up.
*Without that it can be easily be done in less than 5 hours counting stops for pictures and snacks.

There is a parking lot in next to the Frassenaye waterfall with space for several cars. However, we parked a bit further as we were doing a loop and you usually have less energy at the end.

From the beginning you have to go up. The path is easy and without technical difficulty. You have to go through a forest until you come out to the clearing and have views of the mountains if you are lucky and there are no clouds. It is almost 6 km of continuous climb until you reach the lake and where you will only have to keep in mind that the path can sometimes slip, but it is quite easy to walk.

The path is well signposted but when in doubt, always choose the one that goes up.

From Signal de Soi to the lake there is only one path, so to go up and down you have to go along the same path. However, once back we decided to do the tour on the other side, following the directions of the tour de dents du midi. Until Chalin there was no problem, but as explained before; once there the road was cut off and there were many felled trees, although there was no indication. At the end of the road we did find a sign that said it was closed, but was too late and useless. So it is best to call +41 (0) 79 357 19 45 to ask about the status before doing so.

Once the closed part has passed, the path continues to descend until it reaches the road where you will have to continue for another half hour to reach the parking lot.

* A tip could be to hike it clockwise so that in case the road is closed you can see the panel.

Castellano:
