Itinerary description
Great river walk up the HIgueron valley to the Cascadas - the water starts just above the old BBQ site, and there was plenty of water coming down the series of waterfalls in early August. Climbing the falls is not easy, occasional rope and ladder work is necessary, and there a couple of loose, slipper diversions to avoid a couple of the more difficult falls. The final waterfall is the most impressive, with a deep shady pool in front, and a cave behind. Only take the optional route back via the acequia (water channel) if you are okay with narrow (one brick width) pathways, often with long steep drops at the side!
