Itinerary description
At the river, catch your first great view from the red lighthouse 'farol'. From here all the way to Casa da Cerca, you'll see beautiful views of Lisbon, the iconic red bridge 'Ponte 25 de Abril', Belém, and more.
You walk past the 'barcos', the ferry terminal from Cacilhas to Lisbon. You can also start your walk here if that's easier.
Continue along the river on 'Rua do Ginjal', passing old, abandoned warehouses and former canning factories now covered in cool street art. It's a unique mix of old buildings, street art, and wonderful river views.
Just before you reach the river garden 'Jardim do Rio', you'll pass two well-known restaurants 'Ponto Final' and 'Atira-te ao rio'. Perfect spots for a meal with a view. Now, to get up to to Boca do Vento the river side entrance of Old Almada ‘Almada Velha’, you've got three easy choices:
1. Take the staircase - it’s a stiff climb but good exercise.
2. Or, take the elevator - a quick lift up.
3. Or, after the Maritime museum 'museu naval', take the road uphill.
From Boca do Vento, it’s just a short 250-meter walk to Casa da Cerca. This old palace in Almada, full of history, is your final stop. The views of Lisbon and the Tejo river here are amazing. you can enjoy them at the esplanade of the cozy bar 'Coisas de Gostar', or from the beautiful botanical garden. You can also vist the contemporary art center inside Casa da Cerca.
Casa da Cerca, with its mix of old and new, is a must-see.

Lovely walk, perfect to discover the highlights of Cacilhas, the wonderful views on Lisbon and the hidden gem Casa da Cerca.
In the beginning sometimes warned that I left the route when it was not the case. But didn't bother much because I could see clearly on the map I was following perfect.
Took the staircase way. Short intensive staircase.
Short fun walk!
