Itinerary description
This is an easy walk along established tracks and the Puerta Verde. It descends through various orchards of avocados, olives and citrus fruits towards the Rio Torrox and lets the walker appreciate how the steep land is best managed. Please respect that the crops are the livelihood of the owners and fruits should not be picked.
From Casa Laura ascend to the summit of Coscoja and pass the Hotel Caracoles. Swing left and follow the concrete road as it descends to Cortijo Lazo where the road becomes unsurfaced. Follow this road keeping to the obvious route which is subject to more use - any deviation will show less use. Some of the track junctions are provided with signs giving your location.
When you reach the junction with the Frigiliana-Torrox Road (MA 5105) turn left up the hill. Continue until you reach the Puerta Verde sign on your left. Here turn left up the concrete track and keep following the Puerta Verde signs until you exit back onto the MA 5105. After a short distance of uphill walking turn left at the Villa Mercedes sign and others and follow the road back to Casa Laura.
