Itinerary description

Day 4. Wexford Marilyns - Gibbet Hill 315m, Slieveboy 420m and Carrigroe Hill 232m, Wexford.

On many of the peak bagging/outdoor websites I perused for this trip I noted there were very few route descriptions regarding ascents of the lesser known Irish Marilyns. This also applied to the availability of gpx files. I will therefore add relevant information and files that hopefully will provide assistance to future hikers/peakbaggers.

Carrigroe Hill 232m, Gorey, Wexford (Trig Point and Marilyn).
Carrigroe Hill is the 13697th highest peak in the British Isles and the 1255th tallest in Ireland. It is just South of Gorey, Wexford.
Parking is at the start point and it is quite small. There is only room for 4-5 cars maximum.
This was my third Marilyn of the day so it was going to be a quick jaunt. Nothing difficult about this one but to make this explanation shorter just follow my ‘down’ route up. Nothing wrong with my up route but the down route is the quickest way if that is what you want. A quick tip is when you get to the wooden seat just East of the summit walk behind it on a footpath that is not marked on the map. No views from the summit trig point as such as it is quite well hidden.

Parking: Small one at the start point. 4-5 cars. No restrictions, height bars or fees.
Route: A bit of forest track but mainly scenic single track footpath. The last few hundred meters to the summit is very steep.
Statistics: 2.3kms with 123m of ascent done in an all in time of 33 minutest.
Maps: Digital Outdoor active Harveys Super Walker.
