Itinerary description
This is an alternate way to the usual path through this boring, crazy and overcrowded Devil's Ladder !
The way up follows the Brother O'Shea's Gully Route. But, be careful ! Sometimes the path is somewhat discontinuous, a little exposed and presents some rocky steps that can be bypassed by little detours.
However, this route presents spectacular and wild views on the Carrauntoohil face and goes through this wonderful Cummeenoughter Lake. It is much more isolated and quiet than the regular path.
The way down goes through the Cnoc na Toinne and the zigzags that offers nice views over the Black Valley.
Cotation SAC = T4

Unfortunately it is not possible to do the full track anymore. We did it clockwise. It was difficult to find the path up in the beginning of the circle. Beautiful scenery. At top Carrountohill we couldn't continue because that path was closed because of dangerous situation. We went down from carrountohill following the same path as we did up.
There we took the so called devils ladder down. That is a litlle bit dangerous because of stones slipping away from beneath others feet.
Nevertheless a beautifull day
