Itinerary description
This hike encompasses the four key locations in the lower Carnarvon Gorge being Moss Gorge, Amphitheatre, Artist gallery, and Wards canyon. All of the hike is on quite sandy ground at least two person width and other than the entrances to each other the four areas is quite flat.
The most difficult to access is the amphitheatre which requires the climbing of a set of stairs and the walking through a cave to get to the amphitheatre. The stairs are steep.
There are six Creek crossings which must be navigated and hence the trail must be undertaken in dryer times. There are plenty of rocks set out to enable the crossing without getting your feet wet.
During summer times it is better to do this walk earlier in the day to avoid the heat. In winter the hike is best done in the middle of the day.
