Itinerary description
Left Linn of Dee at 6.45am to cycle along the estate track for 7.5 km before leaving the bikes to continue on foot. We soon pass through the Robbers Copse to cross the river and take the path up the south east ridge to Carn a' Mhaim. We continue along the narrow ridge to reach the col and rise steeply over boulders to reach the summit of Ben Macdui. We drop down to Loch Etchachan to pick up the path taking us to the large summit granite Tors of Beinn Mheadhoin. We retrace our steps back to Loch to branch off towards the bouldery summit of Derry Cairngorm. The boulders continue along the south ridge making progress slow. We descend Carn Crom's southwest spur back to the bikes - a rough descent over stones and heather.
