Itinerary description
Cares - half way from Poncebos end.
This trail is very well defined and mostly wide and fairly well made. Easy going but there is a big drop beside the trail in many places which could be significant if you do not like heights.
We did just half of the trail towards Cain because we intend to be in Cain soon and do the other outand back half from there. This makes it into two hikes of about 11 km rather than one long hike of 22km.
If you leave early (before about 8:30am in October) you can drive a car about a kilometer past where the road will be blocked later in the day. This saved us 2km of hiking and it is a great time to start walking.
