Itinerary description
We parked our car on the Boulevard de Varsovie with is abundant parking places, 85 of which are completele free, if you are early enough, where this Boulevard connects with the Boulevard Omer Sairaut which runs parallel with the Canal du Midi. But for 2,50 Euro you can leave your car there for almost a whole day.
We took a while to look at some of the highlights of the old city before we crossed 'Le Pont Vieux' to the Cité, which we entered through the Porte d' Aude.
Once inside the Cité we walked randomly doing most of of the cobbled streets at least once, again taking our time.
We left the Cité eventually through the Porte de Rodez and then decided to descend along a very small and sometimes steep, disused track and after that walked to the the river Aude which we followed towards 'Le Pont Vieux'.
After crossing this beautiful bridge once more we walked back to our parking place following a different route from the earlier one, again seeing some highlights.
It was a day well spent.
