Itinerary description
Capo Graziano has short, well maintained trails to unique archeological sites. Follow the road from the pier of Filicudi Porto a steady uphill toward Capo Graziano. After 700 meters there is a sign at a hairpin curve that marks the start of a stone laid walking path which after another 100 meters branches into two separate paths.
The path to the left runs along the coast and is flat and easy for another 400 meters with excellent views of the bay of Filicudi Porto. Then the path becomes a steep downhill dirt trail for 200 meters down to the millstones. The last 200 meters are a bit challenging for the inexperienced hiker. The impressive millstones are located at the edge of a cliff with a backdrop of cobalt blue waters.
The other path to the right is shorter but more strenuous and consists of stone laid steps that take you from an elevation of 35 meters to 100 meters up to the excavation of a prehistoric bronze age settlement and offers stunning views of Filicudi.
An even more strenuous, rough dirt trail continues from the ruins up to the peak (165 meters high) of Capo Graziano for an incredible 360° view.
The last portion of the trail to the peak is recommended only for experienced hikers. The other paths can be done even by inexperienced hikers and in slippers. Important to bring water and wear a hat.
