Itinerary description

Caples Lake to Emigrant Lake Trail is a 9.6 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Kirkwood, California that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail
Heading east on Highway 88, once you reach the junction to Kirkwood ski resort, it's about 0.7 miles to the parking lot on the right side, just below the Caples Lake dam. The trailhead has a restroom.
Great hike can’t wait to do it again. Lots of variation in scenery and the lake at the top was breathtaking.
