Itinerary description
This is a really nice loop trail at Cape Point that starts and ends at the Buffelsfontein Visitor Center. The trail heads north and peaks at Kanonkop where there are great views. It then turns back to the south, descends to sea level and follows the shoreline to the beach at Buffels Bay. The final leg is a roadway and path that returns you back up to the visitor centre.
Lots of interesting sights along the way including wildlife (some dangerous) and some places to swim too. Highlights include the cannon at Kanonkop (it was used to announce or warn that ships were heading to Simon's Town), a 120 year old kiln, Da Gama cross (dedicated to the Portuguese explorer), a picnic area and a beautiful beach at Buffels Bay.
Views of Cape Point are outstanding.

Watch for a path on your right (yellow foot prints are painted on the pavement). If you see the path on your left you have gone too far!
