Itinerary description
Start and finish at the west end of the Cape Otway Lighthouse car park. This section is part of the Great Ocean Walk. ( GOW )
Overall it is a moderate walk through typical coastal scrub. There are some short climbs and some sand walking especially along the beach to Rainbow falls.
Aprox. 800 metres from start you come to an intersection, the Bracks access (which will take you via the Bimbipark) and the GOW trail, you can go either way and return the other. There is a very old cemetery just after this intersection, well worth seeing some of the history for the area on the grave stones. The outward trip along GOW is well marked and travelled, the return trip is easy to follow, just follow the Bimbipark signs, we missed the trail just before Bimbipark and had to improvise using the GURU app., found the trail easily and back home via the Bracks access track.
When walking the beach to Rainbow falls be aware of the tides especially around the rocky area near the falls
