Itinerary description
Park near Capanno Tassoni. Parking is actually not free, but you can find some free stops few hundreds meter away. Start the journey right behind "Rifugio spigolino", from here you'll take a steeper route crossing small rivers fully immersed in the forest. This route intersects multiple times the return hike, that is a large mountain street easier to do descending.
You'll reach the Passo della Croce Arcana, where you'll take left towards mount Spigolino and, later, lake Scaffaiolo. The hike here is a mountain hike, I did not take the route to the top of Spigolino due to strong winds.
At Lake spigolino, there is Rifugio degli Abruzzi that is usually open (check on the website) where you can either have a coffee, cake, have lunch or sleep.
Return to the car following the same route: when at Passo della Croce Arcana, take the easier route and you'll reach the parking quite easily.
