Itinerary description
This walk worked well for the outgoing section. It will also allow you to cross the mountain range and descend towards Highway 14 if you so wished. However, we were unprepared for a one way trail and descended southwards down what seemed to be a decent track. Scrambling under three barbed wire fences was OK, but when we got as far as the valley floor we lost trace of the track. About a kilometre of bushwacking followed. Some of it was fun, some tiresome. It would be best to find a better route for the last section; perhaps cut back onto the outwards track sooner or just use the outward track for the return.
