CAN 07-Lago Louise y llano de los seis glaciares // Lake Louise and the plain of the six glaciers

<<< English follows >>> Esta ruta es muy completa porque nos lleva por tres lagos, dos Tea Houses y el hermoso plano de los seis glaciares. Dejamos el coche en el parking del Hotel Fairmont. La zona del hotel llena de japoneses sacándose fotos así que sal de aquí cuanto antes. Ya podemos disfrutar del azul turquesa del agua del lago Louise. El color es debido a la caliza de las rocas de las montañas. Recorremos la orilla del lago hacia el SO hasta coger el camino hacia el llano de los seis glaciares y el Tea House que hay allí. Esta es una cabaña construida por el grupo de guías suizos contratados por el hotel Fairmont para acompañar a los clientes a finales del siglo XIX. El Tea House no es caro y te permite descansar un rato. El tramo final antes de llegar al llano es muy llamativo porque no se ve nieve ni lagos ni abetos. Sólo se ven millones de toneladas de rocas rotas y transportadas por el glaciar durante miles de años. Es curioso porque parece que caminas por una escombrera. Al llegar a los 2400 metros de altitud ya se distinguen perfectamente la cuenca de los seis glaciares. Especialmente bonita es la que llega desde en monte Lefroy. Se ve el collado Abbot y el famoso refugio Abbot, construido en 1922, el segundo más alto de Canadá. Phillip Stanley Abbot fue un pionero alpinista que murió en 1896 al intentar escalar el monte Lefroy. Volviendo a la planicie se coge el desvío (WPT Detour) que nos lleva al lago Agnes. Este lago se llama así porque éste era el nombre de la primera mujer de raza blanca que lo vio, Susan Agnes MacDonald. Aquí también hay un Tea House. Al volver hacia el lago Louise se pasa por otro, el pequeño lago Mirror. Es justo recordar que estas rutas y caminos fueron construidas por indios nativos de la tribu Stoney siguiendo indicaciones de los guías suizos y financiados por el Canadian Pacific Railway. <<< English >>> This route is very comprehensive because it includes three lakes, two Tea Houses and the beautiful plain of the six glaciers. We left the car in the parking lot of the Hotel Fairmont. This area is full of japaneses taking pictures so get out of here soon. We can now enjoy the turquoise water of Lake Louise. The color is due to the limestone rocks of the mountains. We walk the lake shore to the SW to take the path towards the plain of the six glaciers and the Tea House which is there. This is a cottage built by the group of Swiss guides hired by the Fairmont Hotel to accompany clients in the late nineteenth century. The Tea House is inexpensive and allows you to take a break. The final stretch before reaching the plain is very striking because there is not snow nor lakes neither firs. Only million tons of rocks broken and transported by the glacier over thousands of years. It's funny because it seems to walk through a heap. Upon reaching 2400 meters above sea level you can clearly distinguish the basins of the six glaciers. Especially nice is the one that comes from Mount Lefroy. The pass and the famous Abbot hut can be seen. Abbot hut was built in 1922 and is the second highest in Canada. Phillip Stanley Abbot was a pioneering mountaineer who died in 1896 while trying to climb Mount Lefroy. Returning to the plain take the diversion (WPT Detour) that leads to Lake Agnes. This lake is so named because it was the name of the first white woman who saw it, Susan Agnes MacDonald. Here there is also a Tea House. Returning to Lake Louise it is passed through another small lake called Mirror Lake. It is fair to remember that these routes and roads were built by native Indians of the Stoney tribe following indications of Swiss guides and funded by the Canadian Pacific Railway.
