CAN 06-Lago Eiffel y las Diez Cumbres // Eiffel Lake and the Ten Peaks

<<< English follows >>> Sin duda esta es una de las rutas más espectaculares y gratificantes. La vista desde el frente de los Ten Peaks quita el hipo. Todas son de más de 3000 metros de altura, una tras otra. Los turistas que abarrotan la rivera del lago desaparecen en cuanto el camino empieza a subir un poco. La primera sorpresa es el maravilloso color del agua del lago. Ese color, nos dicen, es consecuencia de la caliza que contienen las piedras de los canchales que caen al agua. El desnivel hasta el lago Eiffel es de unos 380 metros y se hacen en zigzag entre abetos. Los abetos nos dejan entrever el lago Moraine según ascendemos. Todos los picos forman un circo que recogen toneladas y toneladas de nieve que se deslizan hacia el lago Moraine (de hecho, moraine es morrena en Inglés). Es evidente el desgaste del fondo del circo así como la gran pérdida de material que sufren las rocas por efecto de la fragmentación por hielo. En nuestra ruta, el lago Eiffel no tenía demasiada agua pero es muy agradable descansar allí un rato antes de volver a la civilización. En esta ruta se cruzan neveros y canchales así que mucha precaución. <<< English >>> No doubt this is one of the most spectacular and rewarding routes. The view from opposite side of the Ten Peaks is breathtaking. All are of more than 3000 meters high, one after another. Tourists that throng the banks of the lake disappear as soon as the trail begins to climb a little. The first surprise is the wonderful color of the lake water. That color, they say, is a result of the limestone contained in the stones falling into the water. Eiffel Lake lies about 380 meters above Moraine Lake, walking in zigzag between firs. The fir trees allow us glimpsing Moraine Lake as we ascend. All peaks form a cirque that collects tons and tons of snow that slide towards Moraine Lake. The wear of the bottom of the cirque is evident as well as the great material loss suffered as a result of rock fragmentation due to the ice. The Eiffel Lake did not have much water but it is very pleasant to rest there for a while before returning to civilization. On this route you will cross snow patches and scree so take care.
