Itinerary description
This walk starts at the campsite and follows the back road into Beas de Granada before climbing into the hills and the parque natural. The path up to the old dam is perhaps the most challenging; climbing over a rocky path above a steep valley. After that the path follows tracks to climb to the highest point with wonderful views over the Sierra Nevada before following good tracks through an old quarry. The descent is over an old quarryman's path; more rocky underfoot than of late but with good views. The path then descends over tracks into Beas de Granada (worth a stop for a vino and tapas) before returning via the road to the campsite.
Mostly open ground so take care with the sun, or take a picnic to consume during the heat of the day under the trees approaching the quarry.
