Itinerary description
This is a version of the Camino Portuguese names Route Monacal, as it goes along the coast from Porto and does not follow the more common central route.
It covers the camino Portuguese from Lisbon->Santarem->Coimbra->Porto and the coastal route from Porto->Viana do Costelo->Viladesuso->Redondela and then onwards to Pontevedra->Caldas de Reis->Santiago.
So it will not cover the cities on the centraol route from Port, ie. the Braga->Ponte de Lima->Valenca section of the route.

Hi, is coastal from Porto to Santiago longer than central route? I am planning spring Camino Portugues, and had anticipated ~375 miles and have 33 days .
Buen Camino!

Very beautiful although from Lisbon to Fatima it was very hot and dry.
Tomar to Porto was excellent and the coastal route afterwards was amazing.
