Itinerary description
A beautiful canyon hike especially in the flowering season.
From the Painted Canyon Rd, park on your left close to mile: 2.4.
The canyon forks almost immediately, keep in the right fork.
Keep left at the other forks.
The left fork ends at a rocky dry fall, impossible the pass.
Now you have 2 options.
1) Go back the same way you came.
2) Go back and take the next canyon to the left. (More flowers and a great overlook)
Option 2
Keep left in this canyon.
A nice overlook of the dead end canyon.
The hiking gets a bit more difficult, as the wash turns a bit rocky.
You can follow this wash all the way to the ridge.
This canyon is one of the few, that presents an easy way, to get to the ridge.
Not that you can go much further, once you are on the ridge, but it's fairly easy and presents excellent views.
Start hiking east on the ridge and go down.
Once down there is no easy way down into the canyon, so make a loop going up again, to the point you came up the ridge.
Be careful to enter the right wash down as there are two of them in close proximity.
Go back the same rocky canyon until you get into the Pyramid canyon and turn left.
End option 2.
About 300 Yards before the Pyramid, you should see a trail on the left side of the canyon, that breaches the canyon.
This is an fairly easy way to get into the parallel canyon.
The way down is slightly slippery, so be careful.
Follow this canyon downhill until you meet the Pyramid canyon at point "Left 2".
