Itinerary description
A spectacular loop in and above the Mecca Canyons.
The hike is probably best made counter clockwise. That's the other way around we hiked.
That way you get the most difficult part first and it's easier to scramble uphill.
At point "Small wash" you leave or enter the Pyramid wash, at the point the wash is narrow and rocky.
Be careful as you go along "Narrow Ridge". Keep a couple of feet away from the top of the ridge as it's pretty steep on the other side.
These sand canyons tend to be rather unstable.
The views over the ridge left and right into the deep deep canyons, are breath taking and a bit scary.
WARNING: As always on you own risk. For this hike you need some desert hiking experience.
Don't even try this without a decent GPS. It's almost impossible to find a safe way down into the right canyon.
A hiking stick is highly recommended.
