Itinerary description
From the parking area a good trail leads uphill (west). At point [2] the Lost Horse Mine, leave the main path and go uphill (north), above the fence, on trail(s) leading to the summit [3].
On the summit enjoy the great panorama of the park below. The main trail is clearly visible, head towards the trail (south), on the trail head downhill going south to southeast.
The trail can be easily seen running a bit to the right. After .8 Mile to the right a large cairn can be spotted, at this cairn follow the trail a bit to the left (westerly).
After point [8] a marker, the trail goes into a wash that heads northwesterly. A wash yet a road? On some places something that reminds of an old road can be seen.
On the map you can see the trail following a road. The road is hardly recognizable as such, only the 1e part [1-2] it bears some resemblance to a dirt road. The road of course is barred from all traffic.
