Itinerary description

More Anza Borrego Hiking

A small impressive canyon, with a large variety of flowers and plants.

Start hiking North and follow the small sandy wash uphill.
Some small dry falls, but this is one of the few trails with some maintenance.
At the first Fork keep left over the rocks.
The next Fork, keep right.

At first mostly footprints, later on, more and more hoof prints. We spotted 2 deer further on in the mountains near the mines.

The only obstacle is a larger dry fall.
You can climb it right of the fall or go back a bit and hike up the canyon wall.
On top of the fall you find a couple of morteros.

On your way back, 30 minutes before the end, look on the right hand side (West) of the canyon for a mine.

In 2014 we walked a bit further into the canyon, for about 1 hour 30 minutes in, right before the granite mountain peak.
