Itinerary description

More Anza Borrego Hiking

A longer hike up Coyote mountain to the peak.

You should be able to see the old partially washed away road leading up the mountain.
Follow the road uphill. The hike follows the ridge on the east side and follows old jeep trails.
The trail is sometimes wide, a single lane and later on not existing.

Once you reach the peak 1, make sure you are still fit, as the hard part starts here.
Down we go into the wash below and up again, following the steep wash on the east side. Stay higher up, don't go into the canyon/wash.

The hike is still fairly easy, at point "wash" it's best to start hiking closer to the bottom of the wash.
Now we get some small boulders and a rather steep climb. Suddenly things level off and the terrain is rather flat.

There is a marker on one of the peaks.
But you have to look more to the north/east to see the actual two peaks. They are only marginally higher than the flat area.

The hike is never dangerous or steep, as in getting into problems if your are afraid of heights.

Warning: there are countless jeep trails out there, leading in almost any direction.
