Itinerary description

More Anza Borrego Hiking

A hike along two springs, that hold water most of the year, in steep canyons.

Follow the trial south, on a frequently hiked trail.
Once going down, you can see the saddle below, slightly to the right.

Hike over the small saddle, that separates the two Tubb canyon washes.
The Big spring below has running water most of the year.

You notice the burned down almost tree like Sugerbush.

Turn east and hike downhill more or less along the stream.
The best place to hike is just out of the main stream.

This part is close to the limit, what I find a pleasant hike.
Rather steep, bare rock and narrow.

But take your time finding the best route.

Close to the middle spring, the stream is only a trickle or only moist sand.

Turn into the left fork, heading North, towards the palm tree.
There it is green again and streaming water.

This canyon is a lot dryer, wider and more filled with boulders.
But all in all, this one is way easier to hike up.
Keep mostly out of the wash, on the left bank.

Hike back to the car.
