Itinerary description
Spectacular loop taking in wonderful coastal views and a swim at Tinnari.
Starting from the roadside parking at La Marinedda we walked to Cala Rossa along the dirt road - talking the coastal path would have been nicer but a bit longer, and we were short on time.
Joining the coastal path at Canneddi we walked for almost 2 hours to reach Tinnari. A few steep, slippery sections and narrow paths with a steep drop - good shoes essential, and take care especially if windy. Amazing ginepri trees, rock formations and turquoise waters the whole way. Fairly clear path with occasional red/white sentieri marks and ‘omini di pietra’ (stone men).
We took the steep path down to Tinnari beach and had a quick swim. Alternatively you can stay on the main path and rejoin the dirt road back to Marinedda. We headed back around 6pm and enjoyed views of the sun going down over isola rossa on the way back. Gorgeous. Beach bars at Marinedda were still open to enjoy a sunset drink.
A relatively short hike, medium difficulty, well worth the effort. Highly recommended!
