Itinerary description
This is a combination of two trails... the Cahergal loop and the ascent to Caher peak.
For the magnificent views from one of the highest points on Sheep's Head peninsula and then down to the sea cliffs on the northern side.
The Cahergal loop alone is a nice hike.... passing by an old famine hamlet known as Crimea, a cliff edge section with a handrail rope for added safety and even a marriage stone near the end of the route for good measure (https://thesheepsheadway.ie/2019/01/01/the-holed-stone/).
This walk is not easy or too difficult... it can be a bit wet in places and there is a lot of up an down along the way.
