Itinerary description

This hike starts from The Gantry. It follows the Somerset trail and at one point it goes off the track to start at the very near of the Gorge's beginning. It's heavily vegetated for the first 200m but then it opens up nicely and it looks more like a proper small canyon. I bypassed a couple of waterfalls (there is a footpad on the right side of the bank) this time but in a previous hike our party jumped in the pools. Exercise caution here because when we did it the Gorge carried a lot more water.

I walked right until the end of the creek where it meets Diana's Bath Rd. Cooled off at the billabong and took another tributary to get back to the fire trails that lead back to The Gantry. The exit of the tributary is a bit of a scrub bush in places because it follows a steep gully. Loose dirt so watch your steps.

Overall, the track itself isn't too demanding but today it was a dry day and the mossy rocks in the mid section of the Gorge weren't slippery. It would be a lot more difficult and a lot slower going during or immediately after rain.
