Itinerary description

Not all the great trails in Gros Morne are to be found in the National Park. This trail, built by the community of Norris Point, is an example. Although not great in length, it has wonderful views of the surrounding area, shows excellent examples of the geological activity that created Gros Morne and has sufficient elevation change to get your heart going.

While we were there, there were minke whales swimming just off shore.

The trail was well maintained & marked & there is some interpretive signage. There are a couple of routes to follow, the trail recorded here is only one of them. There are trail route map signs posted at the trailheads.

If you are interested in the marine wildlife of the area, a visit to the Bonne Bay Marine Station Aquarium us worth a visit.

Note: on the map of this hike, between waypoint #7 & #8, it shows a straight line. This is because I accidentally put Wikiloc in Pause mode. Whoops! So, the trail is not a straight line between these points. Just follow the path, it will be obvious.

I would give this hike an AVA rating of 2A.
