Itinerary description
Following the Tine Out Country Walks Vol1/walk 8 from Bures railway station to Sudbury.
Have to say that this walk along the Essex/Suffolk borders exceeded my expectations. Beautifully countryside and not too demanding which is just as well as it was a scorcher.
Some interesting churches in Lamarsh and Great Henny. The lunchtime stop in Henny Swan pub, right by the Stour river is charming.
Walk is mixture of tracks, trails and occasional (very quiet) roads. There's one part of the trail which was heavily overgrown with nettles though and suffered from wearing shorts - long trousers recommended.
One of my favourite walks of late I think.

Highly recommend this walk! Just as described. Do wear long trousers for the stinging nettle section, otherwise found it a very pleasant day out in beautiful countryside full of wildlife. The river setting at Bures before crossing the train line was my highlight.
