Itinerary description
Day 1: Borovets - Musala Hut (Easy)
The Yastrebets hut (35min by gondola from Borovets) is the starting point for the ascent of Mount Musala. The first leg (1hr) brings you to the Musala hut, where we stayed for the night.
It was 5.33 p.m. when we arrived at the Musala hut, so if I had known that there was a hut at Ledeno Ezero, we would have slept there instead.
DAY 2: Musala hut - Musala top (Easy-Moderate)
At 9.00 a.m. we started our second day. It took us 2 hours to arrive at the Ledeno Ezero hut, from where it’s a forty minutes walk to the summit.
The guy in the meteo hut warned us for the extremely bad weather that day in the mountains and d we were offered a room in the hut.
DAY 3: Musala top - Ribnite Ezera Hut (Difficult)
We started the day at 8.00 a.m. and arrived at the Ribnite Ezera 9 hours later.
DAY 4: Ribnite Ezera hut - Rila Monastery (Easy)
After sleeping at the Ribnite Ezera hut it's a 5 hour walk to the Rila Monastery.
